About PDA
The foundation of Premier Defence Agencies was laid in 2000 with the commencement of representation of the Belleville Shoe Manufacturing Company, and its introduction to Australian soldiers, through the retailer, Cool Kit Australia.
Continued growth and the introduction of the Carinthia brand of military sleeping bags, saw the need for a single entity to properly represent both manufacturers in Australia. In early 2008, Premier Defence Agencies was incorporated.
Premier Defence Agencies has 21 years of varied defence experience from the combat arms to logistics and supply, with an emphasis on combat clothing and equipment, including small arms. We also have several effective relationships with other Australian defence manufacturers and exporters.
Premier Defence Agencies’ goals are simple and effective:
- to provide Australian defence with quality, value-for-money products, fit for purpose, from experienced manufacturers;
- to support those products fully and give customers peace of mind;
- to protect the reputations of our manufacturers through honest, best-practice business methods and fair-trading; and
- to assist our manufacturers to improve products through end-user feedback and assessment of local conditions.
When Premier Defence Agencies assesses a new manufacturer, we consider the following questions:
- Are the products needed and suitable for our region and defence forces?
- Is the manufacturer an established, ISO certified organisation with a positive reputation?
- Do they currently or have recently manufactured for defence?
- Is the manufacturer innovative and involved in the development of propriety technology?
